R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Glenda Clements of Mineola is being inducted as
  governor of the Texas District of Pilot International on April 21,
  2007; and
         WHEREAS, Chartered in 1921, Pilot International is a
  volunteer service organization that focuses on helping people
  affected by brain-related disorders and disabilities through
  community programs, education, and financial support; the Texas
  district of the organization is made up of some 50 clubs and
  approximately 1,500 members from across the state; and
         WHEREAS, Since joining the Mineola chapter of Pilot
  International in 1987, Glenda Clements has been an active and
  effective civic leader, holding numerous positions with the chapter
  and serving on the district level as treasurer, lieutenant
  governor, and governor-elect; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to her work with Pilot International,
  this dynamic woman is a former president and board member of the
  Mineola Area Chamber of Commerce and a previous treasurer of the
  East Texas Civic Association; moreover, she has served on the
  Mineola Civic Center Board, the Mineola Tourism Board, and the
  North East Texas Tourism Council; a dedicated member of the
  American Legion Auxiliary, she is a life member of the Texas Lions
  Camp and a Texas Lions Foundation Fellow and has been recognized by
  her peers in the community as Woman of the Year; and
         WHEREAS, Glenda Clements has demonstrated a long-standing
  commitment to helping her fellow citizens, and she will undoubtedly
  provide exemplary leadership in her new role as governor of the
  Texas District of Pilot International; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Glenda Clements on her induction as
  governor of the Texas District of Pilot International and extend
  best wishes to her for a successful tenure; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Clements as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
