| WHEREAS, Jennifer Fix of Burleson has earned the Good | ||
| Government Pharmacist-of-the-Year Award from the American | ||
| Pharmacists Association; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Established in 1990, this honor recognizes | ||
| pharmacists who actively contribute to their profession through | ||
| involvement in the political process and by improving service and | ||
| education to the public; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Ms. Fix is a former president of the Texas Pharmacy | ||
| Association, and her widely influential efforts have advanced the | ||
| overall practice of pharmacy in the Lone Star State; she has been a | ||
| strong proponent of establishing guidelines that allow pharmacists | ||
| to better serve their patients, and her efforts initiated | ||
| legislation requiring prompt payment by all third-party providers; | ||
| and | ||
| WHEREAS, A graduate of Drake University, Ms. Fix holds a | ||
| bachelor's degree in pharmacy and a master's in business | ||
| administration; she currently serves as president of Jen-Rx and is | ||
| the owner of the Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy in Haltom City; and | ||
| WHEREAS, This notable Texan has earned the trust and respect | ||
| of her customers and her colleagues, and her exceptional efforts in | ||
| behalf of her profession and community are an inspiration to all who | ||
| know her; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby honor Jennifer Fix on her receipt of the Good | ||
| Government Pharmacist-of-the-Year Award from the American | ||
| Pharmacists Association and extend to her sincere best wishes for | ||
| continued success; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Ms. Fix as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
