R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, June 2007 marks the retirement of Crosby ISD |
|
|
superintendent Dr. Don Hendrix, bringing to a close an outstanding |
|
|
career in education that has spanned 42 years; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A member of the first graduating class of Deer Park |
|
|
High School, Dr. Hendrix earned his bachelor's and master's degrees |
|
|
from Stephen F. Austin State University and his education |
|
|
administration certificate and doctorate from The University of |
|
|
Texas; his notable career as an administrator has taken him across |
|
|
the Lone Star State; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan has served the students and |
|
|
teachers of Crosby ISD as superintendent for the past 21 years; |
|
|
under his leadership, the district, which has become one of the |
|
|
fastest growing in the state, has seen a considerable improvement |
|
|
in academic performance and graduation rates, a testament to his |
|
|
unyielding efforts to provide his charges with a first-rate |
|
|
education; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Highly respected for his tireless work ethic and his |
|
|
dedication to excellence, Dr. Hendrix has earned the lasting |
|
|
respect and admiration of his students, teachers, and staff; he may |
|
|
reflect with pride on his more than four decades in education, and |
|
|
it is a pleasure to recognize him as he prepares to embark on a new |
|
|
chapter in his life; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Dr. Don Hendrix on the occasion of |
|
|
his retirement as superintendent of Crosby ISD and extend to him |
|
|
best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Dr. Hendrix as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
