R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Mike Wilson has been named Baytown Citizen of the |
|
|
Year, and he received this prestigious honor on March 9, 2007, at a |
|
|
ceremony held at the offices of the Baytown Sun newspaper; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Nominated by Gayle Guidry, who has worked with him |
|
|
since he moved to Baytown in 1975, Mike Wilson was selected from a |
|
|
group of finalists based on his innumerable contributions in behalf |
|
|
of his community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The regional business development officer for Amegy |
|
|
Bank of Texas in Baytown, Mr. Wilson has been a positive force in |
|
|
the city since he moved there more than three decades ago; he has |
|
|
embraced a multitude of volunteer opportunities, including working |
|
|
with the American Cancer Society and its Bay Area Relay for Life |
|
|
event, the Baytown Chamber of Commerce, the United Way of Baytown |
|
|
Area, and the Kiwanis Club of Baytown; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, As a successful businessman and civic leader, Mike |
|
|
Wilson has greatly enhanced the quality of life in the Baytown |
|
|
community, and he is indeed deserving of special recognition for |
|
|
his myriad achievements and contributions; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Mike Wilson on his designation as |
|
|
Baytown Citizen of the Year and extend to him best wishes for the |
|
|
future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Wilson as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
