R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, More than 500 pastors and church delegates from |
|
across the nation are gathering in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from |
|
July 11 through July 15, 2007, for the 39th annual convention of the |
|
National Black Presbyterian Caucus; and |
|
WHEREAS, Uniting congregations and pastors of African |
|
American Presbyterians, the National Black Presbyterian Caucus |
|
strives to prepare future leaders among the next generation; and |
|
WHEREAS, The annual convention offers attendees a week of |
|
worship and fellowship and promises to inspire and galvanize all |
|
those who are gathering to celebrate the 200th anniversary of their |
|
denomination's founding; and |
|
WHEREAS, This significant occasion provides a fitting |
|
opportunity to reflect on the myriad contributions made by African |
|
American Presbyterians in the growth and development of this nation |
|
over the course of the past two centuries as members of the National |
|
Black Presbyterian Caucus meet once again to chart their notable |
|
plans for the future; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the 39th annual convention of the |
|
National Black Presbyterian Caucus and extend sincere best wishes |
|
to all those in attendance for a memorable and meaningful |
|
conference. |
