R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, More than 500 pastors and church delegates from
  across the nation are gathering in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from
  July 11 through July 15, 2007, for the 39th annual convention of the
  National Black Presbyterian Caucus; and
         WHEREAS, Uniting congregations and pastors of African
  American Presbyterians, the National Black Presbyterian Caucus
  strives to prepare future leaders among the next generation; and
         WHEREAS, The annual convention offers attendees a week of
  worship and fellowship and promises to inspire and galvanize all
  those who are gathering to celebrate the 200th anniversary of their
  denomination's founding; and
         WHEREAS, This significant occasion provides a fitting
  opportunity to reflect on the myriad contributions made by African
  American Presbyterians in the growth and development of this nation
  over the course of the past two centuries as members of the National
  Black Presbyterian Caucus meet once again to chart their notable
  plans for the future; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby commemorate the 39th annual convention of the
  National Black Presbyterian Caucus and extend sincere best wishes
  to all those in attendance for a memorable and meaningful
  conference.
