R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Lynn Jennings has deservedly been honored for her
  commitment to professional excellence with her receipt of the
  2006-2007 Kiwanis Woodrow Counts Junior High Teacher of the Year
  award; and
         WHEREAS, A faculty member at Workman Junior High School in
  Arlington for the past 24 years, Mrs. Jennings began her career
  there in 1983 teaching business management, recordkeeping, and
  English; since 1985, she has shared her technical expertise with
  her students as a computer literacy teacher, and she further serves
  as a technology trainer for her fellow educators; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Jennings is a graduate of West Texas State
  University; in addition to serving the students of Workman Junior
  High School, she previously taught at Aransas Pass High School,
  Silverton High School, and Tarrant County College, where she worked
  with the Summer College for Kids Program; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of her career, Mrs. Jennings has
  given generously of her time and talents to her professional
  community as a member of the Texas Computer Education Association
  and the Association of Texas Professional Educators (ATPE);
  accepted for membership in the Discovery Education Network in 2005,
  she has twice been honored by the ATPE and was also selected as the
  Workman Teacher of the Year for 2000-2001; and
         WHEREAS, Through her accomplishments as an educator, Lynn
  Jennings has touched the lives of many people, and her dedication to
  the youth of our state indeed merits special recognition; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Lynn Jennings on being named the
  Kiwanis Woodrow Counts Junior High Teacher of the Year for
  2006-2007 and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Jennings as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
