R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Mary Irma Flores Escovedo has been named the
  Arlington Teacher of the Year; and
         WHEREAS, This prestigious honor recognizes educators who
  inspire in their young charges a love of learning and instill in
  them the skills necessary to achieve academic success; and
         WHEREAS, A graduate of West Texas A&M University, Mrs.
  Escovedo is a bilingual teacher at South Davis Elementary in
  Arlington and is pursuing a master's degree in reading from Texas
  Woman's University in Denton; and
         WHEREAS, In all of her endeavors, she has enjoyed the support
  of her husband, Frank, and her four children, Francisco, Fabian,
  Fernando, and Felicity; and
         WHEREAS, Respected and admired by all who are privileged to
  know her, Mrs. Escovedo has demonstrated a firm commitment to
  professional excellence and to the youth of the Lone Star State; she
  may reflect with pride on her recent accomplishment and know that
  her efforts are making a positive difference in the lives of
  generations of Texans; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Mary Irma Flores Escovedo on being
  named the Arlington Teacher of the Year and extend to her best
  wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Escovedo as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
