R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Kathryn Jay Hamilton of Lubbock County has dedicated |
|
|
50 years of her life to educating young Texans as a public school |
|
|
teacher; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Beginning her career by operating a day-care center, |
|
|
Kathryn Hamilton later taught classes in a number of towns in the |
|
|
Texas Panhandle, including Olton, Hale Center, Post, and Paducah; |
|
|
she ultimately accepted a job with Frenship High School in |
|
|
Wolfforth, where today, at age 84, she continues to teach |
|
|
senior-level English; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Hamilton is known as a flexible and skilled |
|
|
instructor who is able to successfully incorporate the latest |
|
|
educational tools and techniques into her classroom; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Serving as a positive role model who has influenced |
|
|
countless students over the course of several generations, Kathryn |
|
|
Hamilton has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to public |
|
|
education, and her long and distinguished career has earned her a |
|
|
special place in the hearts of many people; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Kathryn Jay Hamilton for 50 years of |
|
|
service and remind her of the high regard in which she is held by her |
|
|
fellow Texans; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mrs. Hamilton as an expression of admiration by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
