R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, El Paso attorney Mark C. Walker is listed in The Best |
|
Lawyers in America for 2006 in recognition of his outstanding work |
|
in personal injury litigation; and |
|
WHEREAS, A most deserving recipient of this honor, Mr. Walker |
|
earned his bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, and his doctor of |
|
jurisprudence degree from The University of Texas at Austin and |
|
began his legal career in 1985 as an associate with Grambling & |
|
Mounce; he joined the firm of Mounce, Green, Myers, Safi & Galatzan |
|
in 1991, and he became a partner in Brown McCarroll L.L.P. in El |
|
Paso in 2006; and |
|
WHEREAS, An active part of his professional community, Mr. |
|
Walker has presented several papers and spoken to various |
|
organizations and institutions, including his alma mater, where he |
|
was a presiding officer at The University of Texas School of Law |
|
Page Keeton Civil Litigation Conference; he has served as chair of |
|
the Ethics and Bylaws Committees of the El Paso Bar Association, as |
|
chair of the District 17-A Grievance Committee, and as a member of |
|
the Disciplinary Review Committee for the State Bar of Texas; |
|
recently selected as a commission member for the Texas Board of |
|
Legal Specialization, he is also involved with the American Board |
|
of Trial Advocates, Association of Defense Trial Attorneys, Defense |
|
Research Institute, and Texas Association of Defense Counsel; and |
|
WHEREAS, Equally notable are Mr. Walker's contributions to |
|
his community; he is a member of the board of the Greater El Paso |
|
Chamber of Commerce, chair of the El Paso Museum of Art Advisory |
|
Board, and event chair of Kidfish El Paso; a member of the |
|
Borderland Mobility Coalition and El Paso Sunturians, he has served |
|
as president of El Paso Texas Exes and as a director of the Insights |
|
El Paso Science Museum; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Walker is a Texan of considerable talent and |
|
dedication, and he may reflect with pride on his accomplished |
|
career, as well as this recent achievement; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Mark C. Walker on being listed in |
|
The Best Lawyers in America and extend to him best wishes for the |
|
future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Walker as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
