| WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of love | ||
| and shared experiences, and Patricia and Fredrick M. King of Hurst | ||
| celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on March 23, | ||
| 2007; and | ||
| WHEREAS, High school sweethearts, Fred King and the former | ||
| Pat Fone were joined in matrimony in 1957, at a ceremony held in | ||
| Brownsville; through the years, they have been blessed with a | ||
| treasured family that includes three children, Fredrick King, Jr., | ||
| Leslie Smith, and Becky Stubblefield, as well as son-in-law Brad | ||
| Stubblefield and five grandchildren, Jacob, Spencer, and Mitchell | ||
| Smith and Madison and Morgan Stubblefield; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. King served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean | ||
| War and attended The University of Texas; now retired, he enjoyed a | ||
| career with Lockheed Martin; Mrs. King, a graduate of Texas Woman's | ||
| University, is retired from Expanco, a company she founded 25 years | ||
| ago; residents of Hurst for 43 years, the couple are active members | ||
| of their community and valued congregants of St. Paul United | ||
| Methodist Church; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. King have enjoyed five decades of | ||
| abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among an | ||
| exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting | ||
| commitment; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Patricia and Fredrick M. King on | ||
| their golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best | ||
| wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mr. and Mrs. King as an expression of high regard by | ||
| the Texas House of Representatives. | ||
