R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Donald and Jeanette Gill of Hurst |
|
|
marked their 50th wedding anniversary on February 9, 2007; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Gill were united in matrimony at |
|
|
Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo in 1957; they have nurtured |
|
|
a close and fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with |
|
|
the addition of children Dan Gill, J. Edward Gill, and Krista Gill |
|
|
Barrington, as well as eight grandchildren and five |
|
|
great-grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Residents of Abilene while Mr. Gill was in the U.S. |
|
|
Air Force, the couple moved to San Angelo upon his military |
|
|
discharge and Mr. Gill worked as a real estate broker; when they |
|
|
moved their family to Hurst in 1968, the Gills established a real |
|
|
estate business that they operated together until 1973; in addition |
|
|
to her business responsibilities, Mrs. Gill has always embraced her |
|
|
treasured roles as a wife and mother, while Mr. Gill recently |
|
|
retired following a 30-year career as an executive in the title |
|
|
insurance industry; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Looking back over the past five decades, Donald and |
|
|
Jeanette Gill can savor a wealth of cherished family memories and |
|
|
know that the strength of their love and commitment ensures that |
|
|
many more joyful times await them; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Donald and Jeanette Gill on their |
|
|
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them best wishes for the |
|
|
future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Gill as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
