R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The family and friends of U.S. Army Private First
  Class Cory C. Kosters of The Woodlands suffered an immeasurable
  loss with the death of this valiant soldier on March 5, 2007, at the
  age of 19; and
         WHEREAS, Assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute
  Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division,
  Private Kosters was killed while serving his country during combat
  operations in Iraq; and
         WHEREAS, He joined the military three months after his 2005
  graduation from The Woodlands High School; in his youth, he enjoyed
  participation in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and was an active
  member of Crossroads Baptist Church; and
         WHEREAS, Private Kosters loved serving his country and
  thrived on the adventure and intensity of his work, while remaining
  aware of its inherent dangers; he was known to volunteer for every
  assignment, and although he had been given an opportunity to return
  home for a visit with his family, he selflessly opted instead to let
  a fellow soldier take leave for the birth of his first child; and
         WHEREAS, Exemplifying the highest ideals of the U.S. armed
  forces, Cory Kosters inspired others with his fortitude, tenacity,
  and courage; although his death leaves a void in the lives of his
  loved ones, they will forever carry memories of this heroic young
  Texan close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Private Cory C.
  Kosters and extend deepest sympathy to his parents, Marlon and
  Senta Kosters, to his brother, Kevin, and to all those who mourn his
  passing; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Private
  First Class Cory C. Kosters.
