R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and
  meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort the family and friends
  of Nathaniel Williams of Dallas, who passed away on April 10, 2007;
  and
         WHEREAS, Born and raised in Waco, Mr. Williams graduated from
  A. J. Moore High School in 1954 and earned a bachelor's degree from
  Wiley College and a master's degree from Texas A&M University; he
  began his career as a teacher and coach in Terrell before moving to
  Dallas in 1960; he served as a basketball coach for M. B. Lamar and
  William Brown Miller Elementary Schools and Oliver Wendell Holmes
  Middle School, leading a number of teams to the city championships;
  and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Williams went on to serve area schoolchildren as
  an administrator with the Dallas Independent School District for
  many years, beginning with a tenure as the assistant principal of
  Pearl C. Anderson Middle School; he completed the Mott Institute
  Community School Leadership Program and later established the first
  community education program in Texas; before his retirement in
  1994, he served as director of the district's Adult Basic Education
  Program; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to his professional achievements, Mr.
  Williams was active in his community as a commissioner of the
  Comanche District of the Circle Ten Council of the Boy Scouts of
  America, and his contributions earned him scouting's highest honor,
  the Silver Beaver Award; a valued congregant of St. Elizabeth
  Catholic Church, he also shared his time with the Connecting Link of
  Trinity Chapter of The Links, Inc., Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity, and
  the alumni associations of Wiley College and Texas A&M University;
  and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Williams was a devoted husband and loving
  father; he shared 43 years of marriage with his wife, Ann Ferrell
  Williams, and the couple were blessed with a daughter, Angelia
  Nicole, who was said to be the apple of her father's eye; and
         WHEREAS, To all his endeavors, Nathaniel Williams brought an
  unshakeable integrity, a boundless capacity for hard work, and a
  profound desire to make a positive difference in the lives of
  others, and he will long be fondly remembered by the countless
  people whom he inspired; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature herby pay tribute to the life of Nathaniel Williams and
  extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife,
  Ann Ferrell Williams; to his daughter, Angelia Nicole Williams; to
  his brothers, Carl E. Williams, Don A. Williams and his wife,
  Cheryl, Gerald Williams, and Phillip Williams; to his
  sisters-in-law, Bell Williams, Andora Mitchell, Mary Sampson,
  Loretta Hatcher, and Ruby Sanders; to his brothers-in-law, Clarence
  Ferrell, Samuel Ferrell and his wife, Dorothy, Benjamin Ferrell,
  Joe Louis Ferrell, and Willie Ferrell and his wife, Freda; to his
  godchildren, Davita and Fredrick Lister; and to his other relatives
  and many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Nathaniel
  Williams.
