R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Llano resident Macy Smith Janner celebrated over a
  century of life well lived with the commemoration of her 101st
  birthday on February 7, 2007; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Janner was born in the small community of
  Bennett on February 7, 1906; she married Walter Janner in Llano on
  June 14, 1926, and the couple shared a devoted union for almost 70
  years until Mr. Janner's passing in 1995; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Janner was a devoted wife and is a wonderful
  mother; she has two daughters, Ona and Mildred, who both reside in
  Llano with their respective husbands, M. C. Davis and David Warren
  Strayhorn; her family circle also includes her grandchildren,
  Melodee Davis Taylor and Janne Strayhorn Livermore, and her
  great-grandchildren, Heath and Terra Taylor and Jeffrey Livermore;
  and
         WHEREAS, This beloved Texan continues to live on her own and
  to cook for herself and for family occasions; her favorite pastimes
  over the years have included sewing and gardening; and
         WHEREAS, A charter member of the Ranch Home Extension Club,
  which was formed in 1947, Mrs. Janner chaired the group's
  benevolence committee for two decades and in that capacity
  coordinated the provision of meals to many bereaved families;
  moreover, she has been active in the First Baptist Church of Llano,
  regularly attending services and Sunday school; the congregation
  there, recognizing her selfless efforts in behalf of others, has
  honored her as Mother of the Year; and
         WHEREAS, Macy Janner serves as an immense source of strength
  to her family and friends, and she is held in the highest regard by
  all who know her; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Macy Smith Janner on her 101st
  birthday and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
  happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Janner as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
