R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Each year, the citizens of Naples host the Pit |
|
|
Rassler BBQ Classic, an event that has quickly become a much-loved |
|
|
tradition in this small East Texas community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Hosted by the Naples Volunteer Fire Department, the |
|
|
Pit Rassler BBQ Classic was launched four years ago and now includes |
|
|
the Fireman's Challenge Chili Cook-off and an antique classic car |
|
|
show; part of the Texas State BBQ Championship competition and |
|
|
sanctioned by the International Barbecue Cookers Association, the |
|
|
BBQ cook-off has in past years attracted nearly 5,000 people; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, With its proceeds benefiting the Naples Volunteer |
|
|
Fire Department, the Pit Rassler BBQ Classic is indeed a most |
|
|
worthwhile endeavor, and the 2007 event will undoubtedly offer |
|
|
everyone in attendance a rousing good time, delicious barbecue, and |
|
|
lasting memories; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby recognize the Annual Pit Rassler BBQ Classic in |
|
|
Naples and extend to all those involved sincere best wishes for a |
|
|
fun and successful event in 2007. |
