R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Debra Kay Lowe Leibowitz was named Teacher of the |
|
|
Year by the Mineola Area Chamber of Commerce on March 6, 2007; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of Northeast Missouri State University |
|
|
and East Texas State University, where she received a master's |
|
|
degree, Mrs. Leibowitz began her tenure in education as a classroom |
|
|
teacher in Missouri; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Leibowitz started her Texas teaching career in |
|
|
1986 as the librarian at Mineola Elementary School; through the |
|
|
years, she has served as a lead teacher and as a gifted and talented |
|
|
instructor, and her work as a sponsor of Kiwanis K-Kids club has |
|
|
earned her two Youth Leadership awards; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Public education is an endeavor in which all Texans |
|
|
have a stake, and those individuals who devote themselves to the |
|
|
academic development of our state's young people are truly |
|
|
deserving of our highest respect and admiration; now, therefore, be |
|
|
it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Debra Kay Lowe Leibowitz on being |
|
|
named Teacher of the Year by the Mineola Area Chamber of Commerce |
|
|
and extend to her best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mrs. Leibowitz as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
