R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Debra Kay Lowe Leibowitz was named Teacher of the
  Year by the Mineola Area Chamber of Commerce on March 6, 2007; and
         WHEREAS, A graduate of Northeast Missouri State University
  and East Texas State University, where she received a master's
  degree, Mrs. Leibowitz began her tenure in education as a classroom
  teacher in Missouri; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Leibowitz started her Texas teaching career in
  1986 as the librarian at Mineola Elementary School; through the
  years, she has served as a lead teacher and as a gifted and talented
  instructor, and her work as a sponsor of Kiwanis K-Kids club has
  earned her two Youth Leadership awards; and
         WHEREAS, Public education is an endeavor in which all Texans
  have a stake, and those individuals who devote themselves to the
  academic development of our state's young people are truly
  deserving of our highest respect and admiration; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Debra Kay Lowe Leibowitz on being
  named Teacher of the Year by the Mineola Area Chamber of Commerce
  and extend to her best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Leibowitz as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
