R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Cindy Hall is an exceptional young lady who has been |
|
|
named Boys & Girls Club Youth of the Year for Brazoria County, the |
|
|
highest honor a member can receive; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Boys & Girls Club in Brazoria County is joining |
|
|
chapters from across the nation in celebrating A Legacy of Hope and |
|
|
Opportunity during the 60th anniversary of the Youth of the Year |
|
|
program; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, It is especially fitting that Ms. Hall be honored by |
|
|
this organization; she first attended the Boys & Girls Club when she |
|
|
was in grade school, receiving assistance with her homework and |
|
|
enjoying recreational activities; today she is ranked 12th |
|
|
academically in the Brazosport High School senior class and is the |
|
|
top-ranked player on the girls' tennis team; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Cindy Hall is now a dedicated volunteer at the |
|
|
Freeport branch, seeing her work as a way to benefit the community |
|
|
and pay the club back for the assistance she received as a child; |
|
|
she spends many hours helping children with their homework, |
|
|
assisting with drama workshops, and volunteering in activities; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In her role as president of the Keystone Club, Ms. |
|
|
Hall has organized environmental service activities such as beach |
|
|
cleanups to encourage others to model environmental conservation; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Hall is also involved at her high school, |
|
|
serving as captain of the Brazosport Academic Team; moreover, she |
|
|
is an active member of the Speech and Drama Club, the Manga and |
|
|
Anime Club, and the Chemistry Club; following graduation, she hopes |
|
|
to pursue a degree in chemical engineering at Lamar University; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding young student is dedicated to |
|
|
making a difference in the lives of her peers; she is a tremendous |
|
|
role model for others and has demonstrated the determination, |
|
|
maturity, dedication, and high moral standards that define a true |
|
|
leader; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Cindy Hall on being named Youth of |
|
|
the Year for the Boys & Girls Club of Brazoria County and extend to |
|
|
her sincere best wishes for success in all her future endeavors; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Hall as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
