R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, James H. Talley has been named a winner of the 2007 |
|
Outstanding Texan Award in the category of business by the Texas |
|
Legislative Black Caucus; and |
|
WHEREAS, Outstanding Texans are honored for the positive |
|
impact they make in their communities, and the dedicated service |
|
that Mr. Talley has provided as a certified public accountant and |
|
financial planner has greatly enhanced the lives of many |
|
individuals in the Dallas area; and |
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of The University of Texas at Arlington, |
|
Mr. Talley is the chief financial and operating officer of JH Talley & |
|
Associates, P.C., Certified Public Accountants and an instructor |
|
for the financial planning program at Southern Methodist |
|
University; during the past 31 years in the profession, he has |
|
served as supervisory auditor for several federal agencies, |
|
including the U.S. Department of Agriculture, U.S. Department of |
|
Labor, and U.S. Department of the Interior, and he has worked on the |
|
audits of more than 100 small- and medium-sized businesses; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Talley has shared his time with a number of |
|
professional organizations; a member of the American Institute of |
|
Certified Public Accountants, he participates in the Texas Society |
|
of Certified Public Accountants, the National Association of Black |
|
Accountants, and the Financial Planning Association; and |
|
WHEREAS, James H. Talley stands as an inspiring example of |
|
how one person can better a community through professional |
|
dedication, and the Outstanding Texan commendation is a fitting |
|
recognition of his exemplary achievements; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate James H. Talley on receiving a 2007 |
|
Outstanding Texan Award from the Texas Legislative Black Caucus and |
|
extend to him best wishes for further success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Talley as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
