R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Graduate students and faculty from The University of
  Texas at Arlington are visiting the State Capitol on April 24, 2007,
  to learn more about the seat of Texas government; and
         WHEREAS, With the 80th legislative session well under way,
  the Capitol Complex is a source of great activity, offering
  visitors an excellent opportunity to see their state government in
  action firsthand; and
         WHEREAS, Accompanied by Dr. Jeanne Gerlach, Dr. Charles
  Funkhouser, and Dr. Kal Kallison, the visiting students include
  Catherine J. Chavez, Ana Gracia, Jennifer A. Boddeker, Arturo De La
  Cruz, Courtney Porter Martin, and Ray Michou; and
         WHEREAS, While in Austin, these young Texans and their
  professors will visit the Capitol and increase their awareness of
  the fascinating history of this monument to freedom and democracy;
  and
         WHEREAS, The Texas Capitol is an ideal setting for young and
  old alike to discover the rich heritage of the Lone Star State and
  to gain insight into the workings of our state legislature, and it
  is a pleasure to welcome members of The University of Texas at
  Arlington community at this time; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend the visiting students and faculty from
  The University of Texas at Arlington on their interest in state
  government and extend to them sincere best wishes for an
  informative and memorable visit to the Capitol.
