R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Graduate students and faculty from The University of |
|
Texas at Arlington are visiting the State Capitol on April 24, 2007, |
|
to learn more about the seat of Texas government; and |
|
WHEREAS, With the 80th legislative session well under way, |
|
the Capitol Complex is a source of great activity, offering |
|
visitors an excellent opportunity to see their state government in |
|
action firsthand; and |
|
WHEREAS, Accompanied by Dr. Jeanne Gerlach, Dr. Charles |
|
Funkhouser, and Dr. Kal Kallison, the visiting students include |
|
Catherine J. Chavez, Ana Gracia, Jennifer A. Boddeker, Arturo De La |
|
Cruz, Courtney Porter Martin, and Ray Michou; and |
|
WHEREAS, While in Austin, these young Texans and their |
|
professors will visit the Capitol and increase their awareness of |
|
the fascinating history of this monument to freedom and democracy; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, The Texas Capitol is an ideal setting for young and |
|
old alike to discover the rich heritage of the Lone Star State and |
|
to gain insight into the workings of our state legislature, and it |
|
is a pleasure to welcome members of The University of Texas at |
|
Arlington community at this time; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend the visiting students and faculty from |
|
The University of Texas at Arlington on their interest in state |
|
government and extend to them sincere best wishes for an |
|
informative and memorable visit to the Capitol. |
