| WHEREAS, Kenzy D. Hallmark, Sr., of Lufkin died on February | ||
| 18, 2007, leaving his circle of family and friends to cherish their | ||
| many happy memories of time spent in his company; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Born in East Texas on December 1, 1928, Mr. Hallmark | ||
| served his country as an officer in the U.S. Air Force during the | ||
| Korean War; after graduating from Texas A&M University with a | ||
| bachelor's degree and a master's degree, he earned a law degree from | ||
| The University of Texas; a senior litigator with the firm Zeleskey, | ||
| Cornelius, Hallmark, Roper, and Hicks, he retired after 47 years of | ||
| dedicated work; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. Hallmark was a former president of the Angelina | ||
| Chamber of Commerce and the Lufkin High School Alumni Association; | ||
| an active congregant of First United Methodist Church, he was | ||
| active in the Fellowship Sunday School Class and served as church | ||
| council chair; and | ||
| WHEREAS, He and his wife, the late Joanne Hallmark, were the | ||
| parents of four beloved children; in 1990, after the loss of their | ||
| eldest son, Kenzy D. Hallmark, Jr., the couple established a | ||
| memorial scholarship in his name at Texas A&M University; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Kenzy Hallmark lived a caring and purposeful life, | ||
| and he leaves behind a legacy to treasure for those who held him | ||
| dear; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Kenzy D. Hallmark, | ||
| Sr., and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to | ||
| his children, Abbe Pike and her husband, Cornel, Jennifer Rolley | ||
| and her husband, Blake, and John Warren Hallmark; to his | ||
| grandchildren, Catherine, Amanda, and Brent Hitchcock, Madison and | ||
| Kenzy Rolley, and Chase and Connor Pike; and to his other relatives | ||
| and friends; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of | ||
| Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Kenzy D. | ||
