R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Order of DeMolay Association is widely esteemed |
|
|
for its success in developing leadership and in nurturing good |
|
|
citizenship and patriotism in young men; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the order have included such luminaries |
|
|
as writer John Steinbeck, actor John Wayne, news anchor Walter |
|
|
Cronkite, and astronaut Frank Borman; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, An affiliate, the Texas DeMolay Association, |
|
|
periodically sponsors a legislative seminar to educate its members |
|
|
in the theory and practice of state government; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This rewarding educational program offers |
|
|
participants across the state a unique opportunity to experience |
|
|
and learn about the legislative process; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives heartily |
|
|
endorses the goals and ideals of the Texas DeMolay Association |
|
|
legislative seminar; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature, in accordance with the rules and policies of the |
|
|
Committee on House Administration, hereby grant permission to the |
|
|
Texas DeMolay Association to use the house chamber on February 16 |
|
|
and 17, 2008, provided that the house is not in session. |
