R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Civic leader Faye C. Anderson is observing a
  significant milestone in her life with the celebration of her 80th
  birthday on April 27, 2007; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Oak Grove, Louisiana, on that special day in
  1927, Mrs. Anderson has been active in politics and in her community
  from an early age; and
         WHEREAS, During her years in Harlingen, she served as
  president of the local chapter of the Patriotic Order of Does, and
  she also volunteered her time as an election judge and as a precinct
  chair; she has been a successful entrepreneur as well, as the owner
  of Sammy's Restaurant and Private Club; and
         WHEREAS, In recent years Mrs. Anderson has lived in Corpus
  Christi, where she has likewise been active in her community; for 32
  years she has been a volunteer for the Good Shepherd Corner in that
  city; and
         WHEREAS, A longtime member of the Democratic Party, Mrs.
  Anderson has been a delegate to the party's convention on several
  occasions; she has served three terms on the State Democratic
  Executive Committee, and she met her husband, William R. Anderson,
  Jr., over the course of her tenure; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Anderson continues to contribute greatly to her
  community and to the State of Texas through her commitment to
  service and the causes and principles in which she believes; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Faye C. Anderson on her 80th
  birthday and extend to her sincere best wishes for many happy
  returns of the day; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Anderson as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
