R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyous times, loving
  moments, and meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort the
  family and friends of William Edmund Cross of Bonham, who passed
  away on April 10, 2007, at the age of 71; and
         WHEREAS, The descendant of pioneers who settled in Fannin
  County shortly after Texas joined the Union, Mr. Cross was born in
  Bonham on May 26, 1935; he graduated from Dodd City High School and
  attended Paris Junior College and Grayson County College; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Cross served in the U.S. Army at Fort Carson,
  Colorado, for two years; he later worked as an electrician for
  General Cable, retiring in 1996 after more than 36 years of service;
  in his leisure time, he enjoyed working on cars and performing small
  engine repair; and
         WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan was a valued congregant of Ector
  United Methodist Church, where he served as chairman of the
  financial committee and held various positions on the church board;
  and
         WHEREAS, A loving husband and father, Edmund Cross married
  the former Evelyn L. Henson at New Hope Methodist Church near
  Ivanhoe on June 8, 1963; the couple became the proud parents of a
  daughter, Kimberly, and enjoyed a rewarding union of nearly 44
  years; and
         WHEREAS, Edmund Cross touched and enriched the lives of
  countless members of the Bonham community, and those who shared in
  his love and friendship will forever hold him close in their hearts;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of William Edmund Cross
  and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his
  wife, Evelyn Cross; to his daughter, Kimberly Cross; to his sister,
  Ruth Emily Sheer, and her husband, Donnie; to his brother-in-law,
  James Henson, and his wife, Edith; to his sister-in-law, Robbie
  Fox, and her husband, Jimmy; to his cousin, Warren Culbertson; to
  his nephews, Tom Sheer and his wife, Julie, and Jim Sheer; and to
  his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of William
  Edmund Cross.
