R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Bob Boggus received the 2007 Time Magazine Quality |
|
|
Dealer Award (TMQDA) and the 2007 Northwood University Dealer |
|
|
Education Award at the annual convention of the National Automobile |
|
|
Dealers Association; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, One of only 60 automobile dealers chosen from among |
|
|
almost 20,000 across the country to receive the TMQDA, Mr. Boggus |
|
|
was recognized for his dealership's exceptional performance and his |
|
|
distinguished service to his civic and professional communities; |
|
|
his receipt of the Northwood University honor recognized his |
|
|
ongoing contributions to education and automotive marketing; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This noteworthy Texan is a native of Amarillo and a |
|
|
graduate of The University of Texas; he is owner of Boggus Motor |
|
|
Sales, Inc., in McAllen and Boggus Motor Company in Harlingen, |
|
|
which has been in his family since 1933, and is active in the Texas |
|
|
Automobile Dealers Association; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A highly regarded resident of his community and |
|
|
Texas State Bank director, Mr. Boggus is a deacon in the Baptist |
|
|
Temple, a Gideon, and a member of Rotary South McAllen; in addition, |
|
|
he has given of his time and talents as a member of the board of |
|
|
directors of the McAllen Chamber of Commerce, Salvation Army, and |
|
|
Valley Baptist Medical Center; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Boggus sets a high standard of leadership and |
|
|
professional excellence, and he may reflect with pride on his |
|
|
accomplished career and his meaningful service to his industry and |
|
|
community; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Bob Boggus on earning the 2007 Time |
|
|
Magazine Quality Dealer Award and the 2007 Northwood University |
|
|
Dealer Education Award and extend to him best wishes for the future; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Boggus as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
