R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Monica Giles, a fifth-grade student at Clear Creek |
|
Intermediate School in Sanger, has earned an honorable mention for |
|
her entry in the 2007 Arbor Day Poster Contest sponsored by the |
|
Texas Forest Service; and |
|
WHEREAS, More than 9,000 fifth-graders entered this year's |
|
contest, which is intended to help young people learn about the |
|
environment as they depict the theme, "Trees are terrific . . . and |
|
forests are too!"; and |
|
WHEREAS, The poster Ms. Giles created was selected as one of |
|
just two honorable mentions from her region of the state; as a |
|
result, her notable artwork was displayed at the State Capitol from |
|
April 16 to April 20, 2007, in the North Central Gallery; and |
|
WHEREAS, By demonstrating creativity and originality in her |
|
depiction of the environment, Monica Giles has proven herself to be |
|
a young woman of impressive talent, and her success in the poster |
|
contest is an achievement that she can always remember with pride; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Monica Giles for earning an |
|
honorable mention in the 2007 Arbor Day Poster Contest and extend to |
|
her sincere best wishes for success in her future endeavors; and, be |
|
it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Giles as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
