R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Monica Giles, a fifth-grade student at Clear Creek
  Intermediate School in Sanger, has earned an honorable mention for
  her entry in the 2007 Arbor Day Poster Contest sponsored by the
  Texas Forest Service; and
         WHEREAS, More than 9,000 fifth-graders entered this year's
  contest, which is intended to help young people learn about the
  environment as they depict the theme, "Trees are terrific . . . and
  forests are too!"; and
         WHEREAS, The poster Ms. Giles created was selected as one of
  just two honorable mentions from her region of the state; as a
  result, her notable artwork was displayed at the State Capitol from
  April 16 to April 20, 2007, in the North Central Gallery; and
         WHEREAS, By demonstrating creativity and originality in her
  depiction of the environment, Monica Giles has proven herself to be
  a young woman of impressive talent, and her success in the poster
  contest is an achievement that she can always remember with pride;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Monica Giles for earning an
  honorable mention in the 2007 Arbor Day Poster Contest and extend to
  her sincere best wishes for success in her future endeavors; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Giles as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
