H.R. No. 1704
 
R E S O L U T I O N
       WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
by a great and enduring love, Wayne and Juanda Safley of Woodway
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on January 18, 2007; and
       WHEREAS, Wayne Safley and the former Juanda Robinson were
united in matrimony at Elm Grove Baptist Church in Belton in 1957;
they have nurtured a close and fulfilling marriage that has been
made even richer with the addition of their two children, Bobby
Safley and his wife, Ruby, and Donna Myers, as well as three
grandchildren, Kristi Safley, Shaylah Enge and her husband, Eric,
and Brean Childress, and one great-grandson, Lucas Enge; and
       WHEREAS, Both Mr. and Mrs. Safley retired from Owens-Illinois
Glass Company in 1994; they are also members of Wesley Chapel United
Methodist Church in Gholson; and
       WHEREAS, Having witnessed innumerable changes in the world
over the past half-century, this devoted husband and wife have
taken comfort in the reassuring strength of their love, and the
steadfast support they provide to one another has allowed them to
meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace and
determination; now, therefore, be it
       RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Wayne and Juanda Safley on their
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes
for continued happiness; and, be it further
       RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Safley as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
