R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
by a great and enduring love, Wayne and Juanda Safley of Woodway |
|
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on January 18, 2007; and |
|
WHEREAS, Wayne Safley and the former Juanda Robinson were |
|
united in matrimony at Elm Grove Baptist Church in Belton in 1957; |
|
they have nurtured a close and fulfilling marriage that has been |
|
made even richer with the addition of their two children, Bobby |
|
Safley and his wife, Ruby, and Donna Myers, as well as three |
|
grandchildren, Kristi Safley, Shaylah Enge and her husband, Eric, |
|
and Brean Childress, and one great-grandson, Lucas Enge; and |
|
WHEREAS, Both Mr. and Mrs. Safley retired from Owens-Illinois |
|
Glass Company in 1994; they are also members of Wesley Chapel United |
|
Methodist Church in Gholson; and |
|
WHEREAS, Having witnessed innumerable changes in the world |
|
over the past half-century, this devoted husband and wife have |
|
taken comfort in the reassuring strength of their love, and the |
|
steadfast support they provide to one another has allowed them to |
|
meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace and |
|
determination; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Wayne and Juanda Safley on their |
|
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes |
|
for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Safley as an expression of high regard by |
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
