R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Debra Hurst of Joe Dan Mills Elementary School in |
|
|
Austin has been named a finalist in the Lifetime Achievement |
|
|
category of the 2007 H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Created in cooperation with the Texas Association of |
|
|
School Administrators, the awards program recognizes the |
|
|
contributions of outstanding teachers and administrators in public |
|
|
schools throughout the state; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, More than 2,000 applicants were considered for this |
|
|
year's awards, including the Lifetime Achievement award, which |
|
|
salutes educators with more than 20 years of experience; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Her selection as a finalist is a testament to Ms. |
|
|
Hurst's dedication to the children of the Lone Star State and her |
|
|
proven ability to motivate, mentor, and provide innovative and |
|
|
exciting instruction; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Throughout her years of service as a teacher, Ms. |
|
|
Hurst has inspired countless young students, and she has truly |
|
|
enriched the lives of innumerable Texans; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Debra Hurst on being named a |
|
|
finalist for the 2007 H-E-B Excellence in Education Lifetime |
|
|
Achievement Award and extend to her best wishes for the future; and, |
|
|
be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Hurst as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
