R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Dr. Bloyce H. Britton of San Antonio is rendering
  exceptional service to his community in both the professional and
  civic arenas; and
         WHEREAS, After earning degrees from Wake Forest University,
  The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, and
  the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Dr. Britton
  returned to San Antonio to teach part-time at the dental school and
  to practice orthodontics; in addition to maintaining the private
  practice he established in 1997, he continues to serve on the
  faculty at the health science center and also holds an adjunct
  position on the dental faculty at UNC; and
         WHEREAS, For many years, Dr. Britton has devoted untold hours
  in a volunteer capacity to helping conduct the GOLD Youth
  Leadership Development Program; geared to high school sophomores
  who have shown impressive leadership qualities, the program
  encourages participants to contribute to their schools and
  communities and provides them with skills that will assist them in
  accomplishing their goals; thanks in large measure to the dedicated
  efforts of Dr. Britton, whose work in behalf of the program has
  included service as chairman of the board, approximately 300
  students from as many schools throughout South and Central Texas
  are able each year to attend the organization's outstanding
  four-day training session; and
         WHEREAS, Dr. Britton also plays an active role in the GOLD
  Optimist Club of San Antonio, and he has given generous support to
  the Friends of the Bulverde/Spring Branch Library; and
         WHEREAS, A devoted family man, Dr. Britton is the husband of
  Edie Britton and the father of two sons, Hill and Spencer; and
         WHEREAS, Held in the highest esteem by all who have the good
  fortune to know this accomplished and public-spirited Texan, Dr.
  Bloyce Britton is committed to making a positive difference in the
  lives of his neighbors and fellow citizens, and it is indeed
  appropriate to take this opportunity to honor him; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Dr. Bloyce H. Britton for his sterling
  contributions to the community and extend to him sincere best
  wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Dr. Britton as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
