R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Trevor Ohman of Clark High School in San Antonio has
  been named a National Merit Scholar semifinalist; and
         WHEREAS, Established in 1955, the National Merit Scholarship
  Program honors less than one percent of all high school seniors each
  year, based on their scores on the Preliminary Scholastic
  Assessment Test; the designation represents an opportunity for
  young men and women to compete for scholarship awards and win entry
  into some of the nation's best schools; and
         WHEREAS, One of only two students at Clark High School to be
  chosen as a National Merit Scholar semifinalist this year, Mr.
  Ohman is at the forefront of academic excellence in the nation, and
  his outstanding accomplishment makes him a source of great pride to
  his school and community; and
         WHEREAS, Trevor Ohman has demonstrated exceptional
  intelligence, initiative, and maturity in pursuing his academic
  goals, and it is a pleasure to commend him on his achievement; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Trevor Ohman on his selection as a
  semifinalist in the National Merit Scholarship Program and extend
  to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Ohman as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
