R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Dahlia Baldinger of Clark High School in San Antonio |
|
|
has been named a National Merit Scholar semifinalist; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Established in 1955, the National Merit Scholarship |
|
|
Program honors less than one percent of all high school seniors each |
|
|
year, based on their scores on the Preliminary Scholastic |
|
|
Assessment Test; the designation represents an opportunity for |
|
|
young men and women to compete for scholarship awards and win entry |
|
|
into some of the nation's best schools; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, One of only two students at Clark High School to be |
|
|
chosen as a National Merit Scholar semifinalist this year, Ms. |
|
|
Baldinger is at the forefront of academic excellence in the nation, |
|
|
and her outstanding accomplishment makes her a source of great |
|
|
pride to her school and community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dahlia Baldinger has demonstrated exceptional |
|
|
intelligence, initiative, and maturity in pursuing her academic |
|
|
goals, and it is a pleasure to commend her on her achievement; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Dahlia Baldinger on her selection |
|
|
as a semifinalist in the National Merit Scholarship Program and |
|
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Baldinger as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
