R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Hunter Ellis of San Antonio has been named a scholar
  finalist in the 2006-2007 National Hispanic Recognition Program;
  and
         WHEREAS, An initiative of the College Board organization, the
  National Hispanic Recognition Program focuses special emphasis on
  students of Hispanic heritage who score well on the Preliminary
  SAT/National Merit Scholar Qualifying Test and who maintain a
  satisfactory grade point average; and
         WHEREAS, Hunter Ellis, a junior at Clark High School, has
  demonstrated a commitment to academic excellence and a commendable
  work ethic that will undoubtedly benefit this fine young Texan in
  the future; and
         WHEREAS, This scholastic achievement places Hunter Ellis at
  the forefront of academic excellence in the nation, and it is indeed
  a pleasure to honor this notable student who is well prepared to
  face the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Hunter Ellis on being named a
  finalist in the 2006-2007 National Hispanic Recognition Program and
  extend this scholar sincere best wishes for continued success; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Hunter Ellis as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
