R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The passing of Harry Stanton Hassel on March 19,
  2007, at the age of 68, deeply saddened the family and friends of
  this fine man; and
         WHEREAS, A Nebraska native, Mr. Hassel was born on December
  11, 1938; he graduated from the University of Utah in 1964 with a
  bachelor of science degree; and
         WHEREAS, Harry Hassel enjoyed a distinguished 36-year career
  with the National Weather Service; at the time of his retirement, he
  was the only employee of that agency to have served as director of
  three of the six NWS regions; and
         WHEREAS, Held in the highest esteem within his profession,
  Harry Hassel could take pride in a long record of constructive
  endeavors, and he is remembered with great fondness by all who knew
  and treasured him; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Harry Stanton Hassel
  and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his
  wife, Jutta Hassel; to his sons, Jeff Hassel and his wife, Kathleen,
  and Toby Hassel and his wife, Val; to his daughter, Andrea Eastham,
  and her husband, Lyle; to his grandchildren, Kayleigh Hassel,
  Brayden Hassel, Madelynn Eastham, Isabella Eastham, Aspen Eastham,
  and Calder Hassel; to his brother, Daniel Hassel; and to his other
  relatives and many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Harry
  Stanton Hassel.
