R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The passing of Harry Stanton Hassel on March 19, |
|
2007, at the age of 68, deeply saddened the family and friends of |
|
this fine man; and |
|
WHEREAS, A Nebraska native, Mr. Hassel was born on December |
|
11, 1938; he graduated from the University of Utah in 1964 with a |
|
bachelor of science degree; and |
|
WHEREAS, Harry Hassel enjoyed a distinguished 36-year career |
|
with the National Weather Service; at the time of his retirement, he |
|
was the only employee of that agency to have served as director of |
|
three of the six NWS regions; and |
|
WHEREAS, Held in the highest esteem within his profession, |
|
Harry Hassel could take pride in a long record of constructive |
|
endeavors, and he is remembered with great fondness by all who knew |
|
and treasured him; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Harry Stanton Hassel |
|
and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his |
|
wife, Jutta Hassel; to his sons, Jeff Hassel and his wife, Kathleen, |
|
and Toby Hassel and his wife, Val; to his daughter, Andrea Eastham, |
|
and her husband, Lyle; to his grandchildren, Kayleigh Hassel, |
|
Brayden Hassel, Madelynn Eastham, Isabella Eastham, Aspen Eastham, |
|
and Calder Hassel; to his brother, Daniel Hassel; and to his other |
|
relatives and many friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Harry |
|
Stanton Hassel. |
