R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
by a great and enduring love, Ray and Jerry Kirkpatrick of Grand |
|
Saline celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 8, 2007; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Kirkpatrick were united in matrimony at |
|
the old Nazarene Church Parsonage in Grand Saline in 1957; they have |
|
nurtured a close and fulfilling marriage that has been made even |
|
richer with the addition of two children, Don and Ricky, as well as |
|
four grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, A longtime employee of Morton Salt, Mr. Kirkpatrick |
|
retired after 36 years of service to the company; he was also a |
|
member of the military, and his tour of duty took him to Fort Bliss |
|
in El Paso, where he was part of the guided missile school; Mrs. |
|
Kirkpatrick has dedicated herself to her home and her family |
|
throughout their marriage; and |
|
WHEREAS, Having witnessed innumerable changes in the world |
|
over the past half-century, this devoted husband and wife have |
|
taken comfort in the reassuring strength of their love, and the |
|
steadfast support they provide to one another has allowed them to |
|
meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace and |
|
determination; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Ray and Jerry Kirkpatrick on their |
|
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes |
|
for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Kirkpatrick as an expression of high |
|
regard by the Texas House of Representatives. |
