| WHEREAS, After 45 years of outstanding public service, the | |||
| Honorable William Hardin retired as the county judge of Floyd | |||
| County on December 31, 2006; and | |||
| WHEREAS, Judge Hardin served as the court reporter for the | |||
| 110th Judicial District for a quarter-century before taking office | |||
| as the county judge on December 1, 1986; and | |||
| WHEREAS, A valued member of his community, Judge Hardin has | |||
| further distinguished himself through his involvement in the South | |||
| Plains Association of Governments, Caprock Community Action, and | |||
| the Juvenile Board of the 110th Judicial District; recognized for | |||
| his dedicated leadership, he has been honored by his fellow Texans | |||
| as both Citizen of the Year and Employer of the Year; and | |||
| WHEREAS, William Hardin has made many significant | |||
| contributions to the betterment of life in Floyd County over the | |||
| course of his remarkable tenure as a public servant, and he may take | |||
| justifiable pride in his proven record of achievement; now, | |||
| therefore, be it | |||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas | |||
| Legislature hereby congratulate the Honorable William Hardin on his | |||
| retirement as the county judge of Floyd County and extend to him | |||
| sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it | |||
| further | |||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | |||
| prepared for Judge Hardin as an expression of high regard by the | |||
| Texas House of Representatives. | |||
