R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Tiffany Burgess of Trinity High School has been |
|
|
named a 2006-2007 National Achievement Scholar; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The National Achievement Scholarship Program |
|
|
focuses special emphasis on African American students who score |
|
|
well on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying |
|
|
Test; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The only student at Trinity High School to be chosen |
|
|
as a National Achievement Scholar this year, Ms. Burgess is at the |
|
|
forefront of academic excellence in the nation, and her outstanding |
|
|
accomplishment makes her a source of great pride to her school and |
|
|
community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Tiffany Burgess has demonstrated exceptional |
|
|
intelligence, initiative, and maturity in pursuing her goals, and |
|
|
she is truly well prepared to face the challenges and opportunities |
|
|
that lie ahead; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Tiffany Burgess on being selected |
|
|
as a 2006-2007 National Achievement Scholar and extend to her |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Burgess as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
