| WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced | |||
| by a great and enduring love, Harlon and Linda Smith of Hurst | |||
| celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on February 9, 2007; and | |||
| WHEREAS, Harlon E. Smith and the former Linda Kay Pierce were | |||
| united in matrimony in Ardmore, Oklahoma, in 1957; they have | |||
| nurtured a close and fulfilling marriage and have been blessed with | |||
| a loving family that includes Pamela D'Ann Smith, David A. | |||
| Consolver, and Herb and Terry Slattery; and | |||
| WHEREAS, Mr. Smith is retired from a career at Lockheed, and | |||
| Mrs. Smith is an artist; they have lived in Hurst for 42 years; and | |||
| WHEREAS, Having witnessed innumerable changes in the world | |||
| over the past half-century, this devoted husband and wife have | |||
| taken comfort in the reassuring strength of their love, and the | |||
| steadfast support they provide one another has allowed them to meet | |||
| life's challenges and opportunities with grace and determination; | |||
| now, therefore, be it | |||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas | |||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Harlon and Linda Smith on their | |||
| golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes | |||
| for continued happiness; and, be it further | |||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | |||
| prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Smith as an expression of high regard by | |||
| the Texas House of Representatives. | |||
