R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Harlon and Linda Smith of Hurst |
|
|
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on February 9, 2007; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Harlon E. Smith and the former Linda Kay Pierce were |
|
|
united in matrimony in Ardmore, Oklahoma, in 1957; they have |
|
|
nurtured a close and fulfilling marriage and have been blessed with |
|
|
a loving family that includes Pamela D'Ann Smith, David A. |
|
|
Consolver, and Herb and Terry Slattery; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Smith is retired from a career at Lockheed, and |
|
|
Mrs. Smith is an artist; they have lived in Hurst for 42 years; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Having witnessed innumerable changes in the world |
|
|
over the past half-century, this devoted husband and wife have |
|
|
taken comfort in the reassuring strength of their love, and the |
|
|
steadfast support they provide one another has allowed them to meet |
|
|
life's challenges and opportunities with grace and determination; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Harlon and Linda Smith on their |
|
|
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes |
|
|
for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Smith as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
