R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Rider High School boys' soccer team of Wichita |
|
|
Falls brought home the UIL Class 4A state championship with a |
|
|
victory at Round Rock ISD Stadium on April 14, 2007; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In a hard-fought match between two talented and |
|
|
determined teams, the Raiders outscored the Frisco Raccoons 2-1 in |
|
|
the overtime shootout to win the title by the score of 3-2; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Led by first-year head coach Albaro Lopez, the |
|
|
Raiders finished the season with a perfect 23-0 record and |
|
|
celebrated the school's second state championship, having |
|
|
previously triumphed in 2000; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Winning a state title is the ultimate goal for every |
|
|
high school athlete, and the members of the Rider Raiders soccer |
|
|
team will cherish the memory of this achievement for years to come; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Coach Albaro Lopez and the Rider |
|
|
Raiders on winning the 2007 Class 4A state soccer championship and |
|
|
extend best wishes to the many individuals who contributed to this |
|
|
significant accomplishment; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
