H.R. No. 1840
 
R E S O L U T I O N
       WHEREAS, The Rider High School boys' soccer team of Wichita
Falls brought home the UIL Class 4A state championship with a
victory at Round Rock ISD Stadium on April 14, 2007; and
       WHEREAS, In a hard-fought match between two talented and
determined teams, the Raiders outscored the Frisco Raccoons 2-1 in
the overtime shootout to win the title by the score of 3-2; and
       WHEREAS, Led by first-year head coach Albaro Lopez, the
Raiders finished the season with a perfect 23-0 record and
celebrated the school's second state championship, having
previously triumphed in 2000; and
       WHEREAS, Winning a state title is the ultimate goal for every
high school athlete, and the members of the Rider Raiders soccer
team will cherish the memory of this achievement for years to come;
now, therefore, be it
       RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Coach Albaro Lopez and the Rider
Raiders on winning the 2007 Class 4A state soccer championship and
extend best wishes to the many individuals who contributed to this
significant accomplishment; and, be it further
       RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
