R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Denton McDugle has ably served the citizens of Deer |
|
Park during a long and successful tenure on the Deer Park City |
|
Council; and |
|
WHEREAS, Elected in 1989, Mr. McDugle brought a wealth of |
|
civic experience to his post as a former president of the local |
|
Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club; in recent years, he has |
|
continued his legacy of public service with terms as president of |
|
the Harris County Mayors & Councils Association and the |
|
Houston-Galveston Area Council; also an active member of Deer Park |
|
First Baptist Church, he has contributed to his congregation as |
|
director of senior adult ministries for 25 years; his distinguished |
|
efforts in behalf of his community have earned him recognition as a |
|
Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow and as Deer Park Citizen of |
|
the Year; and |
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of Reagan High School in Houston, Mr. |
|
McDugle attended Howard Payne University and the University of |
|
Houston, where he studied psychology and music; through the years, |
|
he has owned a number of notable businesses, including Deer Park |
|
Printing, and in all his endeavors he has been blessed with the |
|
support of a loving family, including his wife of 30 years, Marsha; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Throughout his nine terms on the Deer Park City |
|
Council, Denton McDugle has exemplified the qualities of leadership |
|
that foster strong, vibrant, and caring communities, and the |
|
tremendous dedication and energy that he has brought to his duties |
|
have won him the admiration of countless citizens; now, therefore, |
|
be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend Denton McDugle for his 18 years of |
|
service to the city council of Deer Park and extend to him sincere |
|
best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. McDugle as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
