R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to pay |
|
|
tribute to Tom Romanelli, who retired from his position with the Del |
|
|
Rio Police Department in May 2000; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A native of Chicago, Officer Romanelli first came to |
|
|
Texas in 1958 as a member of the United States Air Force stationed |
|
|
at Laughlin Air Force Base; he met his wife, Yolanda, in Del Rio, |
|
|
and the couple were married in that city and lived there until his |
|
|
discharge in 1960, when they relocated to Chicago; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Romanellis moved back to Del Rio a decade later |
|
|
and raised their three children in that southwestern Texas city; |
|
|
Mr. Romanelli takes great pride in his close-knit family that now |
|
|
includes five beloved grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of his exemplary 28 years on the |
|
|
force, Tom Romanelli's record was one of meritorious service, |
|
|
loyalty, personal bravery, and self-sacrifice consistent with the |
|
|
highest ideals of the law enforcement profession, and it is most |
|
|
appropriate to take the opportunity presented by his retirement to |
|
|
join the many people he has aided over the last three decades in |
|
|
thanking him for an outstanding career in public service; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Tom Romanelli for his steadfast |
|
|
commitment to the public welfare and extend to him sincere best |
|
|
wishes for a happy and rewarding retirement; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Romanelli as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
