R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Esteemed philanthropist and community leader Jim |
|
Alsup of Midland is deservedly being honored by the American Cancer |
|
Society at the 24th annual Cattle Baron's Ball on May 5, 2007; and |
|
WHEREAS, Having served his country as a member of the United |
|
States Army, Mr. Alsup went on to serve the Midland community as an |
|
assistant city attorney; he subsequently built a distinguished |
|
40-year career with the firm of Lynch, Chappell & Alsup, which he |
|
leads today as president; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Alsup has greatly contributed to making Midland |
|
an even better place to live through his involvement in a number of |
|
noteworthy organizations, including the boards of Midland Memorial |
|
Hospital and Medical Center, Midland Area AIDS Support, the Permian |
|
Basin MHMR Foundation, Junior Achievement of West Texas, and the |
|
Permian Basin Area Foundation, which he serves as advisory |
|
governor; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, he enjoys the love and support |
|
of his wife, Sandra, and his two sons, Devin and Jeffrey; and |
|
WHEREAS, Jim Alsup has immeasurably benefited his fellow |
|
Texans as a civic leader, and it is indeed a pleasure to join in |
|
recognizing this widely admired citizen of Midland; now, therefore, |
|
be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor Jim Alsup and extend to him sincere |
|
appreciation for his longtime commitment to charitable and civic |
|
endeavors in the city he is proud to call home; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Alsup as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
