R E S O L U T I O N

|
WHEREAS, While Baytown city councilman Sammy Mahan has long |
|
|
distinguished himself through his leadership in municipal |
|
|
government, he is also well known in his community as the cohost of |
|
|
the popular Sammy and Bob Show on Houston's ESPN radio, 97.5; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, An avid car-racing fan and a recognized authority on |
|
|
the increasingly popular sport, Councilman Mahan, along with his |
|
|
cohost and longtime friend Bob Mungle, shares his expertise with |
|
|
his devoted listeners each Saturday morning; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Whether discussing local racing events or sharing |
|
|
insight on the technical facets of that uniquely American pastime, |
|
|
this gifted storyteller has proven himself to be a reliable source |
|
|
of information and entertainment; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Councilman Mahan is a Texan of considerable talent |
|
|
whose contributions have helped to enhance the lives of his fellow |
|
|
Texans; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Sammy Mahan on his professional and |
|
|
civic achievements and extend to him sincere best wishes for the |
|
|
future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Councilman Mahan as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
