R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The family and friends of Sean Michael DuBose
  sustained an immeasurable loss with his untimely death on March 28,
  2007, at the age of 23; and
         WHEREAS, Born to the late Major William T. DuBose and Judith
  Ann Cushman DuBose on February 13, 1984, in Arlington, Mr. DuBose
  graduated in 2002 from the Marine Military Academy in Harlingen; he
  earned a bachelor's degree in 2006 from the University of Oklahoma,
  where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order; and
         WHEREAS, An Eagle Scout, Mr. DuBose was employed with the Boy
  Scouts of America as a district scout executive; he was a valued
  congregant of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the
  Knights of Columbus in Baytown; in addition, he was a member of
  Masonic Lodge No. 539 AF & AM in Moore, Oklahoma, and the Hejaz
  Shrine Temple in Greenville, South Carolina; and
         WHEREAS, Admired by all who knew him, Sean DuBose strove to
  meet the highest standards of character and conduct; he had already
  demonstrated a remarkable ability to act decisively in a crisis,
  having rescued a woman and her baby from an overturned vehicle when
  he was only 15; and
         WHEREAS, He was also exceptionally accomplished in judo; a
  former collegiate All-American, he won national titles while
  competing from childhood through college; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. DuBose was truly an outstanding young man, and
  he will forever be held close in the hearts of his family and
  friends; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Sean Michael DuBose
  and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his
  mother, Judith DuBose; to his fiancé, Catherine Franklin; to his
  aunts and uncles, Peter Cushman and his wife, Leslie, Lieutenant
  Colonel (Retired) C. Benjamin DuBose and his wife, Meg, and
  Katherine DuBose Bumgarner and her husband, Greg; to his
  grandparents, Charles and Betty DuBose; to his cousins, Savannah
  and Madeleine Cushman, Marie and David DuBose, and Zachary and
  Caleb Bumgarner; and to his other relatives and many friends; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Sean
  DuBose.
