R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Ebony M. Jackson is graduating from E. L. Furr High
  School on May 26, 2007; and
         WHEREAS, Ranking in the top 10 percent of her class, Ms.
  Jackson has maintained an impressive 3.8 grade point average and is
  a member of the National Honor Society and the National Society of
  High School Scholars; she is also president of Mademoiselles and
  vice president of her senior class; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to her school responsibilities, Ms.
  Jackson is actively involved in community service; some of the
  programs to which she has lent her time and talents include Big
  Brothers Big Sisters, The University of Texas Outreach Program, HEB
  Children's Festival, and City Wide Club; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Jackson is also a talented gospel musician; she
  sings with her church choir and is a member of a gospel group, The
  Good Shepherd Choir; and
         WHEREAS, After being accepted by a number of fine
  universities, this outstanding student will attend Texas A&M
  University this fall, and as she embarks on this exciting new
  chapter in her life, she may look with anticipation toward a bright
  and promising future; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Ebony M. Jackson on graduating in
  the top 10 percent of her class at E. L. Furr High School in Houston
  and extend to her best wishes for continued success in all her
  endeavors; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Jackson as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
