R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The family and friends of U.S. Army Specialist
  Dustin R. Donica suffered an immeasurable loss with the death of
  this valiant soldier on December 28, 2006, at the age of 22; and
         WHEREAS, Assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 509th Parachute
  Infantry Regiment, 4th Airborne Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry
  Division, Specialist Donica was killed while bravely serving his
  country during combat operations in Baghdad; and
         WHEREAS, Dustin Donica was born July 11, 1984, and grew up in
  Spring; after graduating from Klein High School, he went on to
  attend The University of Texas, but a strong desire to serve this
  nation soon led him to join the U.S. Army; and
         WHEREAS, Known to his friends as "Double D," Specialist
  Donica loved soccer; from the time he was five, he spent nearly
  every Saturday at the park playing the sport and at the age of 11,
  his talent earned him a position on a team that traveled throughout
  the country; over the years he earned enough money from his referee
  jobs to pay for his first car, a 1969 MGB roadster that he restored
  with the help of his father; and
         WHEREAS, Specialist Donica was close to his family and shared
  a special bond with his sister, Courtney; he will always be
  remembered for his generosity of spirit and his unique sense of
  humor; and
         WHEREAS, Exemplifying the highest ideals of the U.S. Armed
  Forces, he inspired others with his fortitude, tenacity, and
  courage; the State of Texas and the nation now mourn the loss of
  Dustin Donica: a soldier for a brief period, a hero forever; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of U.S. Army Specialist
  Dustin R. Donica and extend deepest sympathy to his parents, David
  and Judy Donica, to his sister, Courtney, and to all those who mourn
  his passing; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of U.S. Army
  Specialist Dustin R. Donica.
