R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Erik Rook has been named a winner of a Midland Civics |
|
|
Teacher Award, which pays tribute to his accomplishments as an |
|
|
educator; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Midland Civics Teacher Awards are sponsored by |
|
|
the Bill of Rights Institute, an organization that seeks to foster |
|
|
greater understanding of the principles, liberties, and freedoms |
|
|
that are the foundation of the government and society of the United |
|
|
States; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A teacher at Lee Freshman High School, Mr. Rook is |
|
|
being honored for the exceptional work he has performed in |
|
|
communicating American civic and governmental concepts to his |
|
|
students and for his ongoing commitment to educational excellence; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The schoolteachers who mentor the young people of |
|
|
Texas in the ideals and practices of American government play a key |
|
|
role in preparing students for their responsibilities as citizens, |
|
|
and Erik Rook's outstanding efforts in the classroom are indeed |
|
|
deserving of the highest respect; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Erik Rook on his receipt of a |
|
|
Midland Civics Teacher Award from the Bill of Rights Institute and |
|
|
commend him for his dedication to area students; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Rook as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
