R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Yotta Wilber has been named a winner of a Midland
  Civics Teacher Award, which pays tribute to her accomplishments as
  an educator; and
         WHEREAS, The Midland Civics Teacher Awards are sponsored by
  the Bill of Rights Institute, an organization that seeks to foster
  greater understanding of the principles, liberties, and freedoms
  that are the foundation of the government and society of the United
  States; and
         WHEREAS, A teacher at San Jacinto Junior High School, Ms.
  Wilber is being honored for the exceptional work she has performed
  in communicating American civic and governmental concepts to her
  students and for her ongoing commitment to educational excellence;
  and
         WHEREAS, The schoolteachers who mentor the young people of
  Texas in the ideals and practices of American government play a key
  role in preparing students for their responsibilities as citizens,
  and Yotta Wilber's outstanding efforts in the classroom are indeed
  deserving of the highest respect; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Yotta Wilber on her receipt of a
  Midland Civics Teacher Award from the Bill of Rights Institute and
  commend her for her dedication to area students; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Wilber as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
