R E S O L U T I O N
       WHEREAS, Allison Dickson of Temple graduated at the top of
her class from Baylor Law School on April 28, 2007; and
       WHEREAS, This momentous milestone follows five years after
she graduated summa cum laude from Southwestern University and
nearly a decade after she graduated in the top three percent of her
class at Temple High School, achievements made all the more
remarkable because Ms. Dickson lives with Werdnig-Hoffman muscular
dystrophy; diagnosed as a toddler, she was not expected to live past
the age of three, yet blessed with an unbeatable spirit and the
support of her proud parents, Joe and Johnnie Dickson, she has
prevailed for 27 years; and
       WHEREAS, Known for her passionate dedication and stellar work
ethic, Ms. Dickson was selected for the Baylor Law Review, served as
a Baylor Law School Ambassador, and participated in Delta Theta Phi
Law Fraternity and the Student Bar Association, which named her
Student Leader of the Year; moreover, this self-proclaimed sports
fanatic could often be found showing her support for the Bears at a
variety of athletic events; and
       WHEREAS, Although Ms. Dickson has already had several job
offers, her immediate plans include enjoying a well-deserved break;
she looks forward to the future with characteristic optimism and
will eventually begin tackling her next challenge: the state bar
exam; and
       WHEREAS, Allison Dickson serves as an inspiring role model
for her family, friends, and fellow citizens, and her outstanding
accomplishments are truly cause for celebration; now, therefore, be
it
       RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Allison Dickson on her graduation
from Baylor Law School and extend to her sincere best wishes for all
the good fortune she so richly deserves; and, be it further
       RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Dickson as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
