R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Diane Yoo of Houston was deservedly named Miss Korea |
|
Texas in June 2006; and |
|
WHEREAS, The Miss Korea organization, which was founded in |
|
Seoul in 1957, hosts international competitions to advance |
|
qualified, intelligent, and talented Korean women, and Ms. Yoo is |
|
indeed one such individual; and |
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of Baylor University, this accomplished |
|
young woman resides today in Houston, where she serves as vice |
|
president for JDDA Concession Management; involved in numerous |
|
community efforts, she has generously shared her time to help |
|
empower her fellow Asian Americans; moreover, she will further |
|
benefit her peers through her service as a coach at the Miss |
|
Universe contest; and |
|
WHEREAS, Distinguished by her commitment to excellence and to |
|
furthering cultural understanding, Diane Yoo is truly a role model |
|
for young Asian Americans in the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be |
|
it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Diane Yoo on being named Miss Korea |
|
Texas and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success |
|
and happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Yoo as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
