R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Treva J. Boyd of Christoval has given generously of |
|
|
her time, energy, and expertise to serve the public good as a member |
|
|
of the Texas Racing Commission; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Boyd garnered considerable experience as a labor |
|
|
relations manager with GTE for 15 years, and is now director of |
|
|
American Truck and RV, San Angelo's oldest RV dealership; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, As a committed member of her community, Ms. Boyd has |
|
|
participated selflessly in various causes and organizations in San |
|
|
Angelo; she has been volunteer chair of the San Angelo Feast of |
|
|
Sharing and president of the boards of directors of the Junior Dance |
|
|
Club and the Senior Dance Club of San Angelo; she has also served on |
|
|
the Booster Club and Site Base Committee for Central High School; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A proud graduate of Texas A&M University, Ms. Boyd |
|
|
has been a member of the board of directors of the Association of |
|
|
Former Students and of the Legislative Committee; she has also |
|
|
served on the board of the West Texas Boys Ranch; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Texas Racing Commission oversees the racing |
|
|
industry in Texas in order to ensure safe racing facilities, fair |
|
|
and honest races, and a consistent revenue stream to the state; Ms. |
|
|
Boyd has served on the commission since November 17, 1999, and her |
|
|
unselfish dedication to the commission and to the State of Texas |
|
|
truly merits special recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Treva J. Boyd for her years of service to |
|
|
the Texas Racing Commission and extend to her best wishes for the |
|
|
future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Boyd as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
